Petite & Narrow Fits
Do you find that most eyeglasses are too large for your face, be it widthwise, depthwise or both? The marjority of eyeglasses on the market today are made with a hinge-to-hinge frame front measuring between 135mm and 150mm. Petite sizes tend to be around 120mm-130mm, and the lenses are proportionately smaller. However, in some eye care practices adults are directed to children’s frames, which don’t always have adequately long temples for an adult’s head.
At Artisan Eyewear, we take care to maintain a selection of narrow and petite fits for adults — of course with an emphasis on color and personality! Our petite frames come from Nifties, Roger, Etnia Barcelona, Swissflex and Dutz, among others. Since Artisan Eyewear doesn’t carry children’s frames, you can rest assured you won’t find cartoons or action heroes on our frames. Whether you need eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses, we’re happy to find the right fit for you!
The Best Fit
While glasses are adjustable, it is always best to start with a frame that already fits your head and is in proportion to your features
Eye Placement
Ideally we want your pupil as close to the horizontal center of your lens as possible, so your eyes do not appear too close-set or wide-set
Bridge Fit
If your nose is crooked, bumpy or asymmetrical, a frame with nosepads is the best option for a great fit so your eyeglasses don’t slide down
Progressive Design
Individuals who are below average height may benefit from an optician fitting a progressive lens requiring Position-of-Wear measurements, for a more custom fit
