Do You Have an Italee, Eyephorics or 2.5 Frame?
For several years in the not-too-distant past, a different version of Swissflex was sold in opticals across the USA. In a nutshell, there was a patent infringement issue and they have been taken off the market. Those versions were called Swissflex but also had designations like Italee, 2.5 and/or Eyephorics.
Eyephorics Italee 2.5 repair options are unavailable as parts are no longer made. These frames are glued together and dismantling them leads to breakage. Artisan Eyewear can replicate your favorite 2.5 eyephorics as a new Swissflex frame.
If you aren’t sure if your frame is labeled with some combination of 2.5 / eyephorics / Italee, here’s an alternative way to check.
1. Examine the images below; if the outer edge of the lens is smooth (no notch) and the hinge’s c hook faces in, they are likely a Swissflex that is repairable or serviceable. Once we receive your frame we’ll provide final confirmation and take payment.
2. If the c hook faces out, if there is a notch in the lens edge, or if the temple says words like eyephorics, italee, 2.5 — it’s likely your frame is of the discontinued design. If you’d like confirmation or are otherwise unsure, please take a few in-focus closeup photos of your frame and email them to us.
