Swissflex By Mail

Artisan Eyewear has worked by mail with clients from across the USA! We’re able to replace old lenses with your new prescription, or fully replicate a favorite old frame. Please connect with our optician prior to shipping anything to the shop.

For Lens Replacement Only: A Caveat

There is a style of Swissflex frame that no one (as far as we know) can replace lenses in: Italee Eyephorics 2.5. If that’s your situation, we are able to replicate that frame in the current Swissflex style.

Which Style of Swissflex Do You Have?

For several years in the not-too-distant past, a second version of Swissflex was sold in opticals across the USA. In a nutshell, there was a patent infringement issue. That second version can be identified using the photos below. Eyephorics Italee 2.5 parts are no longer made, and they aren’t serviceable. However! We can replicate them in the original Swissflex style for you.

Which one do you have?

1. Examine the images below; if the outer edge of the lens is smooth (no notch) and the hinge’s c hook faces in, they are likely repairable or serviceable.

2. If the c hook faces out, if there is a notch in the lens edge, or if the temple says words like eyephorics, italee, 2.5 — it’s likely your frame is of the discontinued design. If you’d like confirmation or are otherwise unsure, please take a few in-focus closeup photos of your frame and email them to us.

Swissflex frame hinge with two labels and arrows: "No Notch" pointing to the edge of the lens closest to the hinge, and "C Hook Facing In" pointing to the area where hinge and temple meet. This is not an Italee 2.5 Eyephorics frame.

Artisan Eyewear only services and sells original Swissflex frames, like the one in the image above.

The image above shows the style of  Eyephorics / Italee / 2.5.
Parts are no longer made for these frames.
